Being a visual person myself, I actually enjoy
hunting for those little Icons in
Photoshop. But as a friend showed me, knowing a few keyboard
shortcuts can
and does save a lot of time. Personally, I am a PC man;
but for those of you on
MAC you can just substitute the Command
key for the Control key and achieve
the same results.
Ctrl+A . . . .
. Select All
Ctrl+C . . . .
. Copy
Ctrl+D . . .
. . Deselect
Ctrl+E . . . . . Merge
Selected Layers
Ctrl+G . . . . . Group items
together
Ctrl+H . . . . .
Hide/Show Selected Items
Ctrl+S . . . . . Save (use
often)
Ctrl+U . . . . . Adjust
Hue/Saturation
Ctrl+V . . . . . Pastes
a copy in the center of a new layer
Ctrl+X . . .
. . Cut (pastes the item to your computer's clipboard)
Ctrl+Z . . . . . Undo the last
action
Shift+Ctrl+I . . . . . Inverse
the selection
Shift+Ctrl+N . . . . . Create
New Layer
Here's a list of most of the tools from the toolbar. Keep
in mind this is from Photoshop 7.0, but all of these "plus more"
should be available in the newer versions. These tools all have
a single letter that you type to access that tool. For tools
that are grouped together, they share a keystroke that you would
type more than once to access the second or third tool in a
group. For example, type "m" to bring up the Rectangular
Marquee Tool, but type "mm" to get to the Elliptical Marquee Tool.

them is helpful. Feel free to copy and or print this page
out so you can find them when you need them. |
