It occurred to me that as I was redoing this
Photoshop Tips section, that I might as well
use my "ABC Arrows" on all my tips. Then it occurred to
me that some of you might
also be interested in using these instructional arrows in projects
you are working on. So
this tip is how to make your own tips easier to understand and follow.

Step 1: Open up a graphic you want to
use.
Step Two: Find the "Custom Shape Tool"
(Arrow A). Note: It is NOT the default
tool in this position. If your toolbar shows
a circle, square, or line tool click on the
small triangle in the lower right corner.
Once open it will show all the options for
this tool across the top. You can select
different shapes (Arrow B) and choose any
color for that shape (Arrow C).
Step Three: Once you have created
your shape (in this case a red arrow), you
need to go back up to the "Move Tool
Icon" (Arrow A). This will allow you to
move, pivot, turn, and place your graphic
where ever you would like.
Step four: Go back to your "Text
Tool
Icon" (just above the Custom Shape Icon)
and select a size and color for the letter
you want to insert. Type your letter.
Go to the "Move Tool Icon" again so that
you can place the letter exactly where you
want it.
Step Five: Across the top go to the
section that says: "Layers". Open it and
go down to the section that says: "Flatten
Image". Click that once, then go to "File",
down to "Save As" and name your new
graphic. |
